Course Overview


At some point in our careers, we have all encountered families that just did not seem interested in their child's development. It is important that as professionals we take time to realize that parents and caregivers are individuals as well. Who are they when they take off their parental hats? Let’s dive deep into ways that we can get to know who parents and caregivers truly are. 


Learning Objectives: 

  • Attendees will learn how we can suspend our own agendas to tend to the needs of parents/caregivers. 
  • Attendees will think of ways to view parents other than just parents or caregivers. 
  • Attendees will discuss how maternal and paternal stress affects executive functioning.
